Green-Schools Committee 2025-2026

We announced our new Green-Schools Committee at our September assembly.

The pupils wrote letters of application, and we received many passionate letters, full of ideas about environmental care!

In 2024/2025 we have worked on our 15th Green Flag programme. Our theme was “Sea Keepers” and we learned so much about the marine life and how to save our seas. We will continue now in 2025/2026 to finish this programme and also to re-visit some of the previous themes such as Litter & Waste etc.

Committee Members for 2025/2026:
2nd: Rafa Farnan and Pippa Farrelly Shields
3rd: Juvana Mebin and Abigail Duffy
4th: Sophie Duffy and Irina Izvorean
5th: Sofija Gusackova
6th: Eva Durnin, Zoe Woods and Ellen McGahan.

In 2022/23 we were selected by Green-Schools to be a pilot school for their “Primary Climate Ambassadors” programme and we were delighted to be chosen as the overall national winners in June 2023 winning “An Choill Bheag” for our school valued at €4000.00 and this was planted and developed in 2024/2025.

Did you know that we are the only school in Co. Louth to have 14 green flags and one of a select few in Ireland?
