We provide all our pupils with the opportunity to develop Gaelic football skills.
Through the years we have enjoyed much success in Cumann na mBunscol Lú competitions. Our GAA teams are coached by teachers Ms McKenna, Ms McGeeney, Ms Murray, Ms Whyte, Ms Shevlin & Ms Titley. Thanks to the dedication of staff members and the eagerness of our pupils we’ve had major success at county level.
The 2025/2026 year has started very successfully! On 20th October '25, our team claimed the Corn Oriel title for the third year in a row when they played St. Mary's PPS, Drogheda. Our girls emerged victorious with an impressive final score of SMnT Ardee 7-5, St. Mary's PPS 2-5.
Meanwhile, our younger pupils in 2nd & 3rd classes are enjoying weekly GAA coaching from Conor on behalf of Louth Coaching & Games. Ms Titley is running lunchtime GAA leagues for 2nd class pupils - so it's all go on the GAA pitches!
In the 2024/2025 school year our GAA team won 4 county titles;
- Corn Oriel
- Corn Irene Uí Bhraonáin
- The All-Girls’ County Blitz
- Sciath MhicChionnaith in June 2025.
It was a bumper year! We also had the honour of representing Cumann na mBunscol Lú at the interval of the Louth v Kildare match in Tullamore in May 2025.
We have very positive links with local clubs St. Mary’s GFC and John Mitchels GFC and also benefit from the coaching from CLG Lú coaching officers.
Of course, we’re all big Louth GAA fans and are very proud of the success of the wee county! We even won best decorated school when we decked our school out in red and white in support of our county teams playing in Leinster finals.
We were delighted to welcome the Delaney Cup to our school after Louth's historic win against Meath in the Leinster final in May 2025. We hope to see the cup many times in future years.
