Ms. R. Clerkin’s class
Last week our school held our annual active week. The girls from junior Infants enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the week. Here are some photos from our active lunch, Irish dancing with Ms. Kerr, Fit Kids, our daily 10@10 and Wake Up Shake Up.

As part of our Green Flag Travel theme this year, Junior Infants have been learning about healthier ways of travelling to school. On Monday, instead of walking or driving, the girls scooted to school and parked their scooters in the designated scooter bay in our yard. In the afternoon, Caroline from An Taisce visited our class to talk about scooter safety, how to properly fit our helmets and how to cross the road using a scooter. We then took part in a scooter workshop where we learned lots of new scooter skills. It was lots of fun!🛴

Junior Infants have been exploring the theme of the vets in Aistear. We were very excited today to visit O’Dowd’s vets. We got to see the operating room, X-Ray room, dental surgery, groomer and laboratory. We also met Bella the dog who performed lots of tricks for us. It was a wonderful day.

This month, we held our annual Lá Glas in school as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. We wore green clothes to school and took part in a ceolchoirm in the School hall. In the afternoon, we got a special treat as Ms. Kerr visited our class to teach us some Irish dancing. ☘️

The girls from 3rd, 4th and 5th class did a fantastic job in representing Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire in the Ardee St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Well done girls! ☘️

Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge ar súil i Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire. Bhí sceitimíní orainn go léir inné nuair a tháinig an chailleach santach ar scoil. Bhaineamar úsáid as ár nGaeilge agus thaitin sé go mór linn!

We had great fun celebrating World Book Day. We all dressed up as our favourite book character. We held a Big Book Breakfast in School where we ate our breakfast and listened to stories read by guest readers. 🥣🥛Later in the day we took part in paired reading with the girls from sixth class. It was a wonderful day.

Spring has Sprung in Junior Infants🍃🐞 We ventured out on a nature walk of the school grounds looking for signs of Spring and illustrated our findings 🦋🐛 This month, we participated in Board Game day which was a fun way to practise our oral language skills. Some girls from 6th class played with us. It was lots of fun!😄 we were very excited to get the chance to take part in Yoga class 🧘♀️.
