Wow! What an opportunity!! A day to remember for both 3rd Classes!
Third Class have been busy working on their Oral Language skills. We played various board games and then everyone had to tell the class how to play the game. We followed this on with some procedural writing which the children enjoyed.
We were busy this week taking part in lots of different Maths activities. We were learning about 2D shapes in school, patterns, and hexagons. We made our own 2d shapes using peg boards.
Third class enjoyed a recent workshop reliving the story of Queen Maeve and the brown bull of Cooley. Queen Maeve and her warriors made a visit to our school on their community walking festival to celebrate and promote the epic tale of Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley).
The walkers began in Rathcroghan in Co Roscommon, where Queen Maeve began her quest for the Brown Bull of Cooley. We thoroughly enjoyed the reenactment of this story outside Moorehall lodge followed by generous refreshments. A memorable day for all!

Having a rest after all the excitement!

We spent a wonderful morning learning all about this amazing monument and finished the day off with a well deserved Mc Donalds!
We all worked so hard picking up the rubbish at our annual Spring Clean! Look how much we gathered up!
We had a fantastic visit to Ardee library and learned so much about keeping safe this Summer on the farm!
