Our Last Walk to The Convent
We sadly made our last journey to our neighbours the nuns, to present them with a little memento of our school and to wish them well in the future.
Fourth Know how to Grow!
We have been very active outdoors this year.
We kept our green fingers by preparing the soil, planting, weeding and watering vegetables.
Active Schools Week 2019
Fourth class enjoyed learning GAA and hockey skills during Active Schools Week.
We continued to develop our Hockey skills for the rest of the year 🙂
Our School Tour to The Cyrstal Maze was AMAZING!!!!!
GREAT GAMES!
We continued to have a very active third term at school with our School Sports Day Team Games.
Third and Fourth Classes joined forces and then were split into Colour Coded Teams and engaged in lots of fun activities. We had a practice day to organise groups and play the games and then we were all set!
We finished off the day with lovely, cool ice-cream cones 🙂
Fourth Class are always very fond of weighing up their options!
Outdoor Classroom
We enjoyed the wonderful weather this year and made good use of our lovely lawns with interesting class novels.
We loved going on investigative nature walks this year and found lots of insects on our travels, which we studied, drew and used in our group project work and in our art.
Artistic, Talented, Creative
Just a few words to describe the amazing girls in fourth class, thank you for all your hard work this year which was displayed on every wall and window of the school and enjoyed by all!
Cycling Skills
Fourth Class gained excellent cycling awareness training to keep us safe on the road to and from school.
Fun in the Sun
We had lots of fun during our last few days at school, with large scale outdoor games for all and of course card making and concerts for the girls leaving us for other counties and countries! We will miss you Magda and Elyza and hope you like the group photo of everyone in the sun!
We had fun dressing up for Valentine’s Day.
We made unique stringed instruments using recyled materials.
P.E. Skills
Fourth class have made great progress with our Tag Rugby Skills this year 🙂
Pancake Tuesday brought tasty treats!We enjoyed adding lemon juice, sugar and nutella toppings to pancakes this year, we gobbled them up too quickly for a photo though…….well, with pancakes… when they’re gone….they’re gone!
Swimming hats on and ready to go!
Fourth Class took to Swimming Lessons like ducks to water and all received certificates at the end of our six week session in the pool.
Geography and the Environment.
We did a bit of digging, we investigated the characteristics and properties of rocks and discovered that there are dinosaur footprints in the rocks around Ireland! We made a 3D dinosaur.
Magda kindly brought in seed pots for the whole class, we started growing them in school and took them home to flourish. Thank you Magda 🙂
Saint Patricks Day 2019We performed the Irish Haka and a fun Irish rap for the school for our Saint Patrick’s Day performance.
World Book Day 2019The whole school got involved in WBD events this year, pupils and teachers all dressed up as characters from their favourite stories. Pupils had to guess which teacher was reading particular books from photos in the front hall.
Fourth class won lots of awards for their amazing drawing skills by recreating characters from their favourite stories.
We also had a lovely time reading and sharing stories with enthusiastic junior infants.

The girls in fourth class brought in books, pamphlets and stories from home in lots of lovely languages, which they kindly shared with all of us and they tried to teach us a cúpla focail nua!
Crazy Hair Day Fun!!!!Fourth Class work neatly in groups in class however some days they can arrive to school with wonderfully unique and very stylish hairstyles!
EASTER
We gave our taste buds a treat when we made lovely lemony Easter Creams.
4th Class AssemblyWe had a great time performing our assembly on Sustainability for the whole school.

Term one
Fun in Fourth!

We Love Science
We found out what happens to our teeth, when we eat or drink too many sugary and acidic food items.
If you don’t want your teeth to have holes, turn yellow, brown or black, or go soft and bouncy then you’d better brush twice a day!!

Day!
Harvest Time
Last year, fourth class planted lots of fruit and vegetables but they weren’t all ready to harvest in June.
We were so lucky to begin fourth class with lots of vegetables that were almost ready to eat. We harvested turnips, carrots and potatoes and took them home to eat them. Yum!
Vikings
We really enjoyed using the internet and researching all about the lives of Vikings. We also made viking longships from recycled materials!
Board Games at School!!!
We brought in a huge variety of board games to school. We loved learning how to play all of the amazing games!
Festive Fun in Fourth! 🙂
We all dressed up in our Christmas clothes and we enjoyed designing and making festive art!
Scrooge …. A Ghost of a Chance
Fourth class put on an incredible production for their Christmas play this year, thank you so much for helping out with lines, songs and of course, costumes and hair. 🙂
We have enjoyed lots of activities since the beginning of the year!
We are FIT! We developed our GAA skills.
We enjoyed Maths Trails around our school.
THE STORYTELLER
We ventured out of our school and visited the library. We listened to an amazing storyteller, who took us through a range of emotions and we participated with songs to add to the fun!
Halloween Hijinks!
The summer heat can’t stop Junior Infants in their tracks.
They had great fun playing ball games out on the grass.
Junior Infants love getting outdoors. We went for an ‘Active Nature walk’
With the help of a few girls from first class, they jumped, jiggled, skipped, side-stepped, ran and hopped their way around the school admiring the wonderful gardens and the apple tress with tiny apples starting to grow.
Junior Infants had an amazing first Sports Day at our school.
They ran heats, they overcame obstacles and in the end had a nice ice lolly to cool down.
We brought our favourite teddies to school today. We told the other girls all about the teddies and why they’re so special to us.
We took them to the library and read them stories. Then in the afternoon we shared our treats with them, when we went for a picnic in the sun!
We love dressing up for Halloween.
We watched the Bean na Bróige performance in our school hall.
Seachtain na Gaeilge and Saint Patrick’s Day
Traditional Irish Music and Sean Nós dancing.
Fabulous storytelling with Niall de Burca, he had us rolling in the aisles!!
Junior Infants had a Super Spring Assembly in Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire.
They worked hard learning lines and told all the children in our school about Spring and how to Keep Active and eat healthily using ABC’s.
They demonstrated lots of athletics from our daily routines and they jived to the song Rockin Robin!
They certainly know how to put a spring in their step!
What a fit bunch!
