Our school was selected from schools across the county to take part in a sports and fitness programme in conjunction with DKIT college. The girls in 1st class have been enjoying their trips to the Parish Centre each week, where Cillian, Art and Alannah have been putting them through their paces with a fantastic selection of fun and active activities to help promote and encourage physical activity in young children while improving their skills in a number of key areas.
Yummy Pancakes to celebrate Lá na bPancóg!
First class wowed the school and their families with their fantastic performance of ‘A Wriggly Nativity’ in December.
First Class had a busy October preparing for Halloween. The girls worked hard in class learning all about Halloween traditions from long ago and how to stay safe at Halloween. They then had the important job of telling all the other classes this important information at our October Assembly, where they entertained the school with their catchy Halloween song ‘Dark Disco’.
We learned how to write a recipe also and as a special treat every girl got to try out her recipe and make a chocolate covered apple. It was great fun. Thank you Ms. Lynch for helping us.
Finally, the girls took part in our school fundraiser ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street’ by making a fantastic effort to dress up in fancy dress. Don’t they look great?
It was a busy month- Well done Rang a hAon!!!
